Number of users worldwide

Depending on your bank or credit card issuer, you will not likely find these tidbits on your monthly statement. Besides, it’s contractually forbidden to disclose such information. That is if you ask us. It is no secret that Apple Pay is a hotbed of mobile payment innovation. The company’s mobile wallet boasts more than a dozen payment methods, ranging from mobile banking to mobile bill payment to a full suite of contactless payment options. The mobile wallet also boasts an average usage of over ten million per month, a feat not accomplished by any other mobile payment service. While there is no one size fits all solution, Apple Pay remains the king of the mobile wallet. Its services and capabilities will only continue to expand. This is a perfect time to be an Apple Pay enthusiast. A recent survey by Apple revealed that nearly 60 percent of users are new to the mobile wallet, a statistic that translates to over a million unique users per month.

Trends in usage by country

The iPhone is one of the most popular smartphone brands worldwide. Apple has sold more than 44.8 million iPhones worldwide. iPhones are also one of the most popular devices in the US, accounting for more than half of all smartphone users. Apple sold 20 million iPhones in North America during the First Quarter of 2022.

As one of the biggest smartphone markets, the US is a prime example of how iPhone usage is constantly growing. In July 2017, the number of iPhones in the US surpassed 270 million. In the US, iPhones average about $750-$800. They are also famous for making mobile payments and watching short videos. The average time spent on a mobile device in the United States is 3 hours and 40 minutes. Smartphones are also widely used for social networking. The number of social media users in the US will grow by 30 million in 2022.

The Asia-Pacific region is a primary smartphone market, with its customer base, growing telecom sector, and many smartphone users. Asia-Pacific countries are expected to drive the market. The number of iPhone users is expected to reach 118.1 million by 2022. The number of iPhone users in the US is expected to reach 116 million in 2021.

Smartphone usage continues to grow worldwide, with most users accessing the internet using their smartphones. In addition to using the internet for social networking, smartphone users also spend a lot of time using mobile apps. Some popular apps include Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and WhatsApp. Smartphones are also preferred for online banking. However, many countries have meager mobile device ownership rates. The lowest mobile ownership rate in South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa is around 69%. In these areas, smartphones are often purchased in convenience stores.

Mobile phone ownership rates are higher in advanced economies. People with higher education and living standards are more likely to own a smartphone. Advanced economies include countries like the US and Canada and the developed Pacific nations of Australia and Singapore. In countries such as Australia, local governments are encouraging a digital economy.

Smartphone usage is also increasing in developing countries. Smartphones are increasingly penetrating rural areas. The mobile phone ownership rate in East Asia and the Pacific has reached 93%. In South Asia, smartphone ownership rates are lower for women. Women are also less likely to own a mobile phone in common- to medium-income countries. However, smartphone ownership rates are increasing in countries such as China.

Developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region are expected to drive the smartphone market. The market is expected to grow by 4.6% over the next four years. However, the smartphone market in China has seen a decline in sales since 2015 due to increased competition in the market.
